you pretty much can't ask for more in a product; it does what is says it will.

pros:
1- works
2- the game pad attachments are a clever idea that make this easy to use.
3- power chord is detachable, in case you need to replace it.
4- usb not needed. plugs into wall outlet, and yes, it keeps the pads charged.

cons:
1- lights. the two charging lights are huge and bright. i sharpied over them, and now they don't' stand out too much.

*deducted one star for the large, bright charging lights. otherwise, it's a perfect product. -- great! it works, and is well designed...
I have had a Nyko charger for about two years.

It is convenient, low-profile, excellent until it breaks. Nice surface design. Bad quality control.

One of the two charging slots failed within a few weeks of purchase. The second station kept working until last night, when the indicator lights became unstable and one light permanently turned off. So, now down to one charging indicator on one slot. Best bet, the entire unit will fail sooner rather than later.

So, back to the search for a charger that is not dependent on the PS3 being plugged into an active power source. -- excellent but short-lived
this is the best ps3 charge station around. you plug in the adapter into the controllers mini USB charging port and then set the controller in the charger and it hits pins to charge. no more possible damage to mini USB port. charger has a light for each controler and is red when charging and green when done. nice on/off switch on charger. the charger has its own power cord, so it can be plugged in somewhere else to end cord clutter. This would make a perfect gift if you are looking to give someone something for their ps3. this is one of the best ideas for a product and one of the best purchases i have made online -- ps 3 controllers charge station
For the longest time I've charged one controller at a time with the 3 foot USB cable that came with my PS3. I finally decided to spring for a charger so I could have fully charged controllers without leaving my PS3 on. I've had mine for almost a month now and my favorite feature is the small adapters you plug in on the top of the PS3 controllers instead of dealing with cables. My only real issue with it is that the controllers don't fit snugly into the charger base---only a small amount of force is required to accidentally knock the controller out of the charger. So as long as you keep the charger bay away from a high traffic area (behind the TV or on a shelf), it's a wonderful asset to have. -- Surprisingly Good for What You Pay
I'm not a gamer, I've never been good at them, but I am a stickler for quality. This is a very nice charger. I was waiting for a cheap chinese piece of junk, honestly, for the price, but this thing rocks. Only con is will the lad lose the adaptors? I labeled a medicine bottle right away and put them in it for him.

Don't worry about ordering one of these, they're nice. As a side note, the adaptors don't fit his older controllers, which are DreamGEAR. They are curved at the front whereas the Sonys are straight. But they could be made to work with any controller, with a bit of filing on the clear plastic.
-- Good solid product
